PRIDE, the UK’s biggest gay and lesbian festival, comes to the West End this weekend, with its usual colourful afternoon parade the obvious highlight as it heads from Baker Street to Trafalgar Square on Saturday.

Hundreds of thousands are set to either take part or line the route, which takes in Oxford Street and Regent St, to get a peep at the crazy costumes, floats and celebs.

This year the theme of Pride is Come Out and Play, so the visual treats on show promise to be even more outrageous than usual, which is saying something.

The parade isn’t the only game in town, however. Events linked to Pride carry on for a fortnight.

There’s the Gay Icons exhibition at the National Gallery, special offers on certain West End shows such as Priscilla Queen of the Desert and Sister Act and a special vogue event at the British Music Experience down at the O2.
