Justin Smith and his younger brother Aaron escape the clutches of a cult. Years pass and the siblings recalibrate their minds but Aaron is haunted by his experiences in the desert. Out of the blue, the brothers receive a mysterious VHS recording from cult member Anna and they are persuaded to return to the cult for one day to seek emotional closure. Back in the fold, which is loosely managed by Hal, Justin and Aaron witness phenomena they cannot rationally explain.
