Sweet Thing (15)

Fifteen-year-old Billie, named after Billie Holiday, indulges fantasies that the singer is her guardian angel as she cares for her energetic 11-year-old brother Nico. The children are largely left to their own devices by their heavy-drinking father Adam, while their mother Eve lives separately with a new boyfriend, Beaux, who lacks any paternal urges. Billie and Nico run away from home and roam the land at their own pace, encountering a rebellious adolescent called Malik.
