Sixtysomething music critic Clara lives in the pretty Brazilian coastal city of Recife in an apartment block called The Aquarius, which overlooks the beach. Ambitious young property developer Diego arrives unannounced and attempts to persuade Clara to sell him her home so he can redevelop the site into expensive condos. She politely declines and Diego applies increasing pressure to force Clara to sign. However, the young upstart underestimates his target.
