The Oscar-winning actress is expecting her first child with husband Keith Urban and her father, clinical psychologist Dr. Anthony David Kidman, and her nursing instructor mother Janelle are set to be midwives during the birth, according to Australian newspaper reports.

Anthony and Janelle did the same thing for Nicole’s younger sister, 37-year-old journalist Antonia Kidman, when she gave birth to her fourth child in March last year.

Nicole, 40, is considering giving birth in Sydney’s Prince of Wales private hospital, which is described as a “state-of-the-art luxury” facility.

Although The Golden Compass star wants the delivery to take place at the medical centre, she is said to be worried about offending Antonia, who gave birth to all four of her children in Sydney’s state-funded Royal Hospital for Women.

A source said: “Nicole wants Keith to stay in the hospital with her when the baby arrives and that would not be possible at the Royal Hospital.”
