The star of TV’s Gavin and Stacey lasted a quarter of an hour of the second half of the play before flaking out.

Horne was taken to hospital for precautionary reasons, but later let home to recover from what is thought to be exhaustion caused by his busy work schedule.

As well as Entertaining Mr Sloane and Gavin and Stacey, Horne has recently worked on the film Lesbian Vampire Killers and TV comedy show Horne and Corden.

At the evening performance of Mr Sloane, audiences booed when told neither Horne nor co-star Imelda Staunton would be appearing.

Tickets for the play, with or without Horne, are on sale here.
