The Mean Girls star is frantically trying to get out of work commitments in Los Angeles to visit her 67-year-old grandmother Marilyn, who was on her way to an Easter family dinner in New York when she was forced to swerve to avoid crashing into a speeding car.
Following the crash in Long Island, Marilyn was airlifted to Nassau University Medical Center where she was treated for minor injuries and later released.
Lindsay’s father and Marilyn’s son Michael said: “Her survival is an Easter miracle. Jesus kept her out of the grave.”
Meanwhile, Lindsay’s grandfather is in hospital battling colon cancer which has recently spread to his lungs.
Although Lindsay is busy working in Los Angeles, Michael insists she has promised to find time in her hectic schedule to visit 73-year-old Richard, the husband of Marilyn.
He said: “I’m hoping Lindsay, her sister Ali and brother Cody can all come by and visit. I have been there every day, but I know he really wants to see his grandchildren.”
