The I Should Be So Lucky singer collected the award – which makes her an Officer of the Order of the British Empire – at Buckingham Palace for her services to music.

She was given the accolade by Prince Charles, the heir to the British throne.

Kylie said: “If anyone had told me when I was 14 that one day I would be with my family at Buckingham Palace, I just wouldn’t have believed them.

“It is an incredible honour for me to receive this award. It makes me feel both humble and proud to be recognised for doing a job that I love so much.”

The 40-year-old star also spent an impressive 33 seconds speaking to the prince and revealed he asked her how she was recovering from her breast cancer battle.

She added: “He just asked what I’m up to at the moment and was happy to see me better.

“It was surprisingly emotional. I expected to be nervous and obviously very excited, but it was actually very emotional seeing different people from all walks of life joining together for this event.”
