The cosmetic surgeon – who is believed to have performed a tummy tuck and breast reduction on 58-year-old Dr. Donda West on Friday (09.11.07) which may have led to her death on Saturday (10.11.07) – has expressed his sympathy, but refused to comment on the procedure.

Dr. Adams said: “I want to first express my deepest condolences to the West family at a very difficult time.

“As a medical doctor practicing in this field, I hold sacred the bond of confidentiality that exists between the patient and doctor. Out of respect of the West family, and the absence of verifiable information, any comment without having first discussing that information with the family would be unprofessional.”

An autopsy was performed on Donda yesterday (13.11.07) but the findings have not yet been made public. The cosmetic surgery is said to have taken eight hours – more than double the normal time for the alleged procedures.

Donda was sent straight home instead of to a medical centre to recover, and was admitted to hospital the next day where she is believed to have died from complications caused by the surgery.

It has since emerged Dr. Adams is not certified with the American Board of Plastic Surgery and has twice been ordered to pay settlements on malpractice suits.

The Medical Board of California is also currently investigating whether the surgeon should lose his license after two arrests in the past four years on DUI (driving under the influence).

Renowned Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Dr. Andre Aboolian has revealed he refused to give Donda a tummy tuck and breast reduction just weeks before her death.

Meanwhile, Oprah Winfrey has denied she introduced Donda to Dr. Adams.

A representative said: “This is absolutely untrue. Oprah did not introduce Dr. West to Dr. Adams. The last time she spoke to Dr. West was April 27, 2005, when she had Dr. West and her son on the show.”
