HOT CHIP have announced two dates at the Brixton Academy for early next year.

Wisely, the electro-indie band have kept the London leg of their 2010 UK tour for last – 26 and 27 February – in all likelihood in order to have a right old Academy knees-up. Plus, they come from south London, so won’t have far to go home.

Tracks like Over and Over and Ready for the Floor brought Hot Chip huge chart success in recent years and their 2006 album, The Warning, got on the Mercury Prize shortlist.

They’ll be hoping the new LP, Made in the Dark, scheduled for release soon, will match that success.
