Britney Spears has returned a positive drugs test.

According to gossip website TMZ, the Toxic singer – who has to undergo random court-ordered drugs tests as part of the custody arrangements for her two sons with ex-husband Kevin Federline – gave a positive urine sample sometime last week.
However, Britney is adamant she is clean and that the reading was false and should have returned a negative result.
Last week, Kevin’s lawyer Mark Vincent Kaplan claimed Britney has missed eight out of 14 drugs tests.
The troubled star – who lost custody of Sean Preston, two, and 14-month-old Jayden James to Kevin after missing tests – is said to have failed to respond to several calls requesting she take the tests within an hour.
Kaplan said at the time: ‘We have been in court on this exact issue at least three times. She lives in a parallel universe. Mr. Federline doesn’t want to take these children out of their mother’s life but what are we to do?’
On Wednesday (14.11.07), Kaplan will hold another court hearing where he plans to show a film of Britney driving through a red light with her kids in the car.
Meanwhile, Britney is reportedly flat hunting in New York.
The 25-year-old singer – who previously owned a $4 million apartment in the Silk Building on East Fourth Street – is looking at loft apartments in the West Village for around $9 million.
A source said: ‘Britney and her manager recently looked at a couple of places a few weeks ago. She apparently wants to start over in NYC.’
