The Rehab singer and her husband Blake Fielder-Civil spent the evening in police cells after being arrested at the Radisson SAS Hotel Norge Bergen at 7pm last night after guests complained they could smell marijuana smoke coming from Amy’s room.

Police were alerted and officers discovered a stash of marijuana after searching Amy’s hotel suite.

A witness said: “There were four police cars parked around the back of the hotel yesterday for some time so it looks like they were waiting for the right moment.

“They were in and out of her room very swiftly and didn’t make a fuss.”

Bergen police have confirmed they arrested the couple and confiscated a “small quantity” of the drug from the singer’s room.

A police spokeswoman said: “She is no longer at the station. We released her after questioning her yesterday night.

“We found a small quantity of marijuana in her room. A small team of local officers were involved. Both individuals were very co-operative.”

Amy and Blake, who were both released this morning and fined around UKP350 for possession of marijuana, had been enjoying a day off from her European tour when police swooped.

Amy’s arrest has thrown tonight’s scheduled show at Bergen’s Peer Gynt Salen concert venue into chaos.

The incident comes just days after Amy’s shaky German comeback show on Monday night (15.10.07).

The troubled singer got off to a bad start when she forgot the words to her two opening songs at Berlin’s Tempodrom arena.

One disgruntled fan said: “She looked reall uncomfortable on stage – twitching, coughing and rubbing her face the whole way through. She’s such a talented girl, if only she’d get rid of the drinks and drugs.”

Amy, 24, was rushed to hospital in August after collapsing following a three-day binge of alcohol, ecstasy, cocaine and the horse tranquiliser ketamine.
