ON DVD FROM 8 August 2011
From acclaimed director Gregg Araki (Smiley Face, Mysterious Skin) comes a hormone-fuelled teen-fantasy laced with sex, drugs and hefty conspiracy theories. Kaboom is released on DVD on 8 August from Artificial Eye.
Renowned for his cult provocateur style films, Gregg Araki is back with his tenth instalment which remains loyal to his earlier style of film-making. Kaboom comprises of a hot young cast including Thomas Dekker (From Within, A Nightmare on Elm Street 2010), Hayley Bennett (Marley & Me, The Haunting of Molly Hartley), Chris Zylka (Shark Night 3D, The Amazing Spiderman 2012) and Juno Temple (Notes on a Scandal, Year One).
Smith’s (Dekker) everyday life in the dorms – hanging out with his arty, sarcastic best friend Stella (Bennett), hooking up with a beautiful free spirit named London (Temple) and lusting for his gorgeous but dim surfer roommate Thor (Zylka). Everyday life gets turned upside-down after one fateful, terrifying night.
Tripping on some hallucinogenic cookies he ate at a party, Smith is convinced he’s witnessed the gruesome murder of an enigmatic Red Haired Girl who has been haunting his dreams. What he discovers as he tries to find out the truth leads him deeper and deeper into a mystery that will forever change not only the course of his young life but the destiny of the entire world.
If you are a fan of Araki’s previous work such as Mysterious Skin, The Living End, Totally F***ed Up and Doom Generation then this is definitely one for your collection, proving that his work just gets better.
Kaboom is available on DVD now courtesy of Artificial Eye.
