Young mother Gemma unknowingly possesses great power. She can travel into the Further, the otherworldly realm located somewhere between heaven and hell, and most importantly can bring demonic forces back with her in to our reality. Once denizens of the dark realise they can use Gemma to cross over, the mortal realm is no longer safe. Coco, Jane and Sophie realise that they have allowed life to get in the way of their childhood friendship and they need to dedicate quality time to each other. The trio arranges a luxury girls’ getaway with some much-needed pampering. A weekend dedicated to relaxation and bonding rapidly descends into delirium when trainwreck friend Mel gate-crashes the retreat and leaves destruction in her wake.

Filmmaker Kris is thrilled to be chosen to direct a reboot of the popular Camp Miasma horrors featuring Little Death. She is acutely aware that her appointment is politically motivated to quieten accusations of transphobia that dogged the original pictures. Leaving behind her partner Mari and polyamorous third wheel Thor, Kris travels to the abandoned summer camp where the original instalments were shot. The site is now home to Norma Desmond-like recluse and actor Billy.

Early Man (PG)

Aardman Animations' 50th anniversary celebrations continue with a rerelease of the studio's 2018 comedy of errors, which traces the history of football to our club-wielding prehistoric ancestors. Dinosaurs and primitive humans are incinerated in the blast from a falling flame-licked meteor. New life sprouts from the scorched earth, creating a valley of lush vegetation where Chief Bobnar and his caveman tribe hunt floppy-eared rabbits in blissful isolation.

Kiki's Delivery Service (U)

Oscar-winning director Hayao Miyazaki's 1989 animated fantasy screens in Imax for the first time then expands to include 4K screenings for the first time. Thirteen-year-old Kiki heads for the port city of Koriko with her trusty black cat Jiji to begin her training as a witch. A kind baker called Osono offers Kiki accommodation and in exchange, she agrees to make deliveries of his tasty wares on her broomstick.

Trainspotting (18)

A 4K restoration of Danny Boyle's seminal 1996 film adaptation of the cult novel by Irvine Welsh to mark the film's 30th anniversary. Renton and his pals, Sick Boy, Spud, Tommy and psychotic Begbie, are part of a disenfranchised generation of heroin-addled youngsters in 1980s Edinburgh. Renton tries to escape the clutches of his addiction, but succumbs to temptation with his posse.
