Documentary about freelance writer Colin Beavan and his family, who decided to dramatically change their lives and attempt to live for one year, making a minimum impact on their surroundings. So Beavan, his wife Michelle Conlin and young daughter attempted to survive without electricity and many modern conveniences, reducing their carbon footprint by walking wherever possible and only eating food that had been sourced locally.
