A life-affirming documentary filmed over the course of 10 years, which begins in 2004 at a shelter, where timid and softly spoken 18-year-old Selvi has fled from an abusive child marriage. Unwanted by her own mother, Selvi is alone is a society, which devalues young women, and offers her no easy path back to self-worth. Slowly, Selvi finds her voice and she learns to drive, becoming South India’s first female taxi driver.
