Jewish American businessman Seymour Levov assumes control of the glove factory established by his father Lou. Against the wishes of the patriarch, Seymour marries a beautiful Irish-Catholic girl called Dawn and they raise a quiet, unassuming daughter called Merry on their farm in Old Rimrock. As shocking images of the Vietnam War fill the family’s TV screen, Merry discovers her voice and rages vociferously against social injustice and the conflict.
