THE LONDON MARATHON has long been linked with charity, but few of the money-raising runners over the last twenty eight could match this year’s Massai warrior team for real-life connection to the cause.

“Our elders told us that we can do it because we have been running all over for killing a lion and herding cattle,” said team leader Isaya.
“We can help them by getting them clean water so right now all of us are training very hard because we want to do it to make life easier for the Maasai people.”
Isaya and five other members of the Massai tribe from Tanzania will wear traditional dress and carry sticks while chanting for Sunday‘s race.
They’ll join some 35,000 other brave souls in taking on the 26 mile 385 yard (42.195 km) course from Greenwich to The Mall via some of London’s most eye-catching landmarks, with crowds well into the hundreds of thousands lining the route.
