The shows will be the first following the release of Brown’s sixth studio album, My Way, due 28 September on Fiction. The bulk of the album’s 12 tracks were co-written with long time collaborator Dave McCracken at London’s Battery Studios, where Brown and the Stone Roses recorded their seminal debut 20 years before. Lead track Stellify was debuted on radio on Monday 10 August, at the same time the video for the song was premiered online. In an unprecedented move, Fiction made the Stellify EP available to download that evening and it shot straight to #1 on iTunes. Stellify will be released as a traditional single via all retailers on 21 September on Fiction. It is followed a week later by My Way, on CD, 12-inch and download.

Ian Brown has been confirmed as very special guest on the main stage at the 2009 Reading and Leeds festivals on 28-29 August. He plays shows in Wolverhampton (25 August) and Oxford (26) beforehand.
