Crossness Pumping Centre
This station is one of the original pumping stations desgined by Joseph Bazalgette, an engineer who built the first 85 miles of sewer systems that ran into the river Thames. Contrary to the usage of the shell of the station, it is actually quite pretty in the inside. Open by appointment only on 24 days of the year, with tours and visits starting at 13:45. Admission is 3 UKP for adults and free for children under 16.
