The Metropolitan Opera Live: Marnie

Michael Mayer directs the world premiere staging of composer Nico Muhly’s operatic adaptation of the 1950s-set novel by Winston Graham with a libretto by Nicholas Wright, which is broadcast live from the stage of the Lincoln Centre For The Performing Arts in New York under the baton of conductor Robert Spano. Marnie centres on the eponymous heroine, who works as a clerk in the offices of accounting firm Crombie & Strutt. After work one evening, Marnie steals money from the safe.
