Nell Sweetzer is the sole survivor of the inferno, which swept through her family’s home. She is discovered in a catatonic state, barely clinging to her sanity. After months of medical care and love, Nell slowly returns to the land of the living and she secures employment as a hotel chambermaid. Gradually, Nell develops an uneasy feeling that she is being watched and when tragedy unexpectedly strikes close to home, the young woman learns about a secret society that has been closely monitoring her progress.
