Li Mei dreams of a better life than the current drudge of overseeing pool tables in backwater China. When she isn’t at work, she is being berated by her harridan mother or falling victim to abusive men. So Li Mei heads to Chongqing where a succession of jobs eventually leads her into the arms of a hit man, Spikey, who provides her with enough money to travel to London to see the famous clock faces of Big Ben.
