Titus Andronicus has lost 21 sons during a brutal 10-year war that has tested his resolve to breaking point. He returns to Rome with a blackened heart and prisoners: Tamora, Queen of the Goths, her three sons Alarbus, Chiron and Demetrius, and her lover Aaron.
