Three Algerian brothers are evicted from their land in 1925 and harbour a deep resentment towards the French. The siblings move to Paris where Said grinds out a living as a pimp and promoter of boxing matches. His brother Messaoud heads to Indochina to fight on behalf of the French and is inspired by the Viet Cong’s fight against colonialism. When he returns to the French capital, Messaoud joins forces with his brother Abdelkader, a revolutionary in the National Liberation Front.
