Miss Hokusai (12A)

In 1814 Tokyo, stubborn fiftysomething artist Tetsuzo spends days in his ramshackle home, creating astounding works for wealthy clients, who are willing to pay ridiculous sums for his creations. One of his daughters, outspoken 23-year-old O-Ei, shares his talent for art. From time to time, she paints instead of her father and allows him to take the credit for her expert labours. As the decades pass, Tetsuzo gains fame across Europe under the name of Katsushika Hokusai while almost no one knows about O-Ei.
