Lisa Cohen is a precocious and sexually active 17-year-old student in New York City, who lives and clashes with her single mother, Joan. At school, Lisa flirts inappropriately with her teacher Aaron and sparks arguments with her classmates about religious conflicts. However, Lisa's greatest battle looms when she faces legal action from bus operator Jason Berstone, who claims that the teenager contributed to a costly accident in Manhattan's Upper West Side.
