Teenager Eli Solinski lives with his adopted father Hal in Detroit along with Hal’s biological son Jimmy, who has returned home after six years behind bars. The older men grate on each other’s nerves and Eli is a silent witness to escalating hostility. During one of his forays away from home, Eli stumbles upon a futuristic weapon, which is laden with jaw-dropping functions. The boy sneaks his prized find back home, unaware that the gun’s time-travelling owners want their weapon back.
