Seventeen-year-old Jim is a socially awkward, disenfranchised teenager, who has no friends and is misunderstood by his parents. A handsome drifter called Dean from Pennsylvania moves in next door to Jim and impresses the teenager with his confidence and swagger. Dean becomes a mentor to Jim, encouraging the lad to ask local girl Jackie out on a date and throw an epic party when his parents are out for the night.
