Indignation

Marcus Messner lives with his parents in Newark, New Jersey, where his father runs a butcher’s shop. In order to avoid the draft for the Korean War, model student Marcus secures a scholarship to Winesburg arts college, where he falls under the spell of a fellow student called Olivia. Her willingness to cater to Marcus’ carnal desires conceals the sadness that once drove her to attempt suicide. The relationship between Marcus and Olivia intensifies and the young man clashes with Dean Caudwell.
