In the summer of 1999, Captain Doug Jones and his troop of Marines are waylaid at the railway station in Capalnita when its officious manager, Doiaru, refuses to grant the train passage without the relevant paperwork. Stranded in the hamlet, the officers, led by second-in-command Sergeant David McClaren, enjoy the hospitality of the locals including the girls, even though the two sides don’t speak each other’s language. As the standoff continues, animosity between Doiaru and the Americans spills over into bloodshed in the streets.
