In 2009, Swedish filmmaker Fredrik Gertten made the documentary Bananas!*, which chronicled the efforts of 12 Nicaraguan plantation workers to file a lawsuit against Dole Food Company. Soon after, lawyers acting on behalf of Dole threatened legal action. This documentary continues this extraordinary story through the filmmaker's eyes as he faces a barrage of criticism and scrutiny in the media and contends with the very real possibility that the multinational corporation will file a defamation lawsuit.
