At Five In The Afternoon (U)

Samira Makhmalbaf was the youngest director ever to have three films screened at Cannes when her latest feature received its world premiere In Competition at the 2003 festival. At Five In The Afternoon is the first film to be made in the Afghan capital Kabul since the demise of the brutal Taliban regime. Set amongst the ruins of the city, the film captures the harrowing yet ultimately life-affirming story of its people who have discovered the will to survive.
