Tae-suk is a homeless drifter who breaks into houses, while their owners are away, and uses the facilities. He never steals or breaks anything in the houses and repays the unwitting kindness of strangers by doing the householders’ laundry and fixing any broken electrical devices. Breaking into the seemingly empty house of a wealthy businessman, Tae-suk is startled to find that the wife, Sun-hwa, is still home. Alarmingly, she has obviously been beaten by her husband.
