Lady spies are hot these days. The French film Female Agents brought them to London cinemas this summer, and now Savile Row couturier Hardy Amies wants you to accessorize yourself covert-ops style.

The house has released its first signature handbag collection, a 1940s-influenced nod to the female secret agent with style names like Mischief and Odette. The late Hardy Amies was a British spy himself in World War II, though we’re guessing he didn’t carry a “purity gold secret nectar”-coloured bag with him.

Now led by a team of three 30-something designers, Hardy Amies is freshening itself up. The brand recently launched its first women’s ready-to-wear line in its Fulham Road store, and it has plans to roll out a new flagship men’s store in central London by year’s end. “Business has never been better,” says accessories designer and developer Nicola Green.
