Fanta Teams Up With Designers Antoni & Alison To Create A Fantastic Limited Edition Recycled ShopperTo celebrate National Recycle Week, Fanta will give away FREE limited edition designer bags exclusively through Tesco from 20th May 2009.

To celebrate National Recycle Week Fanta has teamed up with fashionistas' favourites Antoni & Alison to create a stylish re - usable bag, made entirely out of recycled plastic (PET) bottles. The Fantastic Bag folds up into a cute little pouch, easy to keep with you and perfect for helping everyone cut down on the need for carrier bags

From 20th May this gorgeous bag will be given away totally free with the purchase of two bottles of2L Fanta ® and Fanta Fruit Twist ®, while stocks last exclusively at Tesco. For those with an eye for fashion, the bag will be instantly recognisable as the work of Antoni & Alison. The designers were the perfect people to bring to life the fun and playful Fanta brand and the duo have ensured the bag incorporates key signature design elements that represent their style, from bright orange bows to fuchsia pink love hearts: the bag is truly fantastic!

Antoni Burakowski of Antoni & Alison added: "We love the idea of a beautiful free gift that combines good design & a good ethics. To us this is a perfect POP piece - turning 'thrown away' plastic bottles into a 'want to keep' shopper, it is both recycled, reusable and a really good idea."

Cutting edge UK music and style sensation, VV Brown, has already shown her support for the collaboration by posing with the eco - friendly bag. "I'm really passionate about the environment and try to be green whenever I can. I think this is a really clever way of raising awareness about the importance of recycling - by turning old plastic bottles into a really beautifully designed bag that people are going to love. I'm really pleases to be able to support the campaign and hope people adore the bag as much as I do."

Coca-Cola Great Britain, which produces Fanta, aims to use 25% recycled plastic (rPET) in all its plastic bottles throughout Europe by 2010. This will only be possible if more people recycle their plastic bottles so there's plenty of recycled plastic available to reprocess... it's a virtuous circle. If every household in England recycled 'one more thing', the total amount collected for recycling could increase by more than three quarters of a million tonnes and could potentially raise the national recycling rate by up to 3% (source: WRAP) to make it around 38%. To find out more about recycling, consumers should visit www.recyclenow.co.uk.

Jane Hall, leading this year's National Recycle Week, from WRAP commented: "22-29 June 2009 is the sixth annual National Recycle Week and it is great to have the support of Fanta. The bag that Antoni & Alison have designed is both stylish and eco-friendly - it's sure to be a must-have item which will encourage shoppers to use it instead of plastic carrier bags - and that helps get the message across that this Recycle Week we could all do with wasting one thing less!"

Cathryn Sleight, marketing director at Coca-Cola Great Britain (CCGB) commented: "We are committed to operating as sustainably as possible, and that includes encouraging everyone to recycle more. Our plastic bottles are not just waste, they're a valuable resource which can be used again and again in a variety of ways. Working with Antoni & Alison has allowed us to create a beautiful and practical bag out of recycled plastic that really helps our consumers to do their bit to be greener. Re-using carrier bags is a big environmental issue and by giving away this great bag for free we hope we are making it easier, and a lot more fun, to waste one thing less!"
