Former storm chaser Kate Cooper studies storm patterns from the safety of New York City following a traumatic encounter with a tornado during her college years. Good friend Javi lures her back into the field to test a groundbreaking 3D mapping system. Kate encounters social media star Tyler Owens, who recklessly chases storms with his crew and gleefully posts their daredevil exploits. As multiple storm systems converge over central Oklahoma, Kate and Tyler witness terrifying phenomena.

Thelma Post is a 93-year-old widow, who lives alone in the home she shared, until recently, with her late husband. Grandson Danny dotes on her and swats away suggestions from his parents that the time has come to relocate Thelma to an assisted living facility. Their fears deepen after Thelma is duped out of 10,000 US dollars by a pair of callous phone scammers, Thelma draws inspiration from Tom Cruise to embark on her own mission: impossible to track down the scammers.

Retired schoolteacher Lia enjoys a simple, uncluttered life in Georgia. She discovers young neighbour Achi is eagerly awaiting the arrival of his transgender niece Tekla after a long period of estrangement from the family. When Achi learns that Tekla has safely crossed the border into Turkey, he travels to Istanbul with Lia to bring her home. Far from home, Lia and Achi seek guidance from transgender lawyer Evrim to complete their quest.
