Celebrate the winter season with River Cottage Winter’s on the Way out to own on DVD from 17th October 2011

With the cooler seasons fast approaching, Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall is back and hopes to turn this traditionally chilly time into the warmest season of the year by cooking up some winter treats using the finest produce from land and sea.

In this series, Hugh takes to the water as he free dives for scallops in Weymouth and raids Devon’s rocky coves for wild mussels. From these adventures, Hugh prepares delicious and comforting wintery dishes including a mixed mushroom tart and freshly caught scallops with bacon and butternut squash!

In true River Cottage style, Hugh gets into the party spirit and turns up the heat with a 200 person chilli and pumpkin party, a big beefy thank-you party for the canteen staff and a rabbit feast for his local Women’s Institute.

Hugh also takes the time out to catch up with those who have benefited from the landsharing scheme one year after the project was first launched.
Leaving no seasonal favourite behind, River Cottage Winter’s On The Way celebrates the season’s best and most fresh, from the wild, the garden and the shop. Also, for the first time on DVD is the River Cottage – All Seasons box-set which bring together Hugh’s adventures and an array of recipes from Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter.

The All Seasons boxset is also out on the same day!
