MICHAEL JACKSON fans are out to boycott the late singer’s This Is It movie.

The film is made up of footage from Jackson’s rehearsals for the series of 50 concerts that were to have been held in the O2 around about now, but some fans regard the movie as little short of a whitewash.

“Out of 110 hours of footage, a few scenes were selected in which Michael Jackson smiled and showed that, in spite of being in a dire state, he was still the greatest star in the world,” reads a statement on the This is NOT It website .

“The film has been craftily edited to maximise profits,” Giovanni Panunzio, spokesperson for This is NOT It, told The Sun.

Panunzio and his colleagues say This Is It the movie fails to deal with the mental and physical stress that Jackson was under in the lead-up to his death from drug overdose in June. This NOT it say they have had tens of thousands of visitors to their website in the last two days.

Meanwhile, the This Is It show goes on.

Today, This Is It the album is in the shops. On Wednesday, there’s the premiere of the This Is It movie in 16 cities around the world – the London event is at the Odeon Leicester Square – and on the same day a Michael Jackson exhibition opens at the O2
