BRITISH AIRWAYS cabin crew and London Underground train drivers won’t strike during the Royal wedding between Prince William and Kate Middleton, say key unions.

There had been rumours that Unite, the union which represents BA cabin crew, would join with Aslef, which represents many Tube drivers, and walk out of work at the time of the 29 April wedding.

But both unions have played down such suggestions.

“There’s no likelihood of a strike at the Royal Wedding by British Airways cabin crew,” said soon-to-be Unite leader Len McCluskey.

“The question of possible industrial action on the day of the Royal Wedding has not even been discussed by the union’s executive,” read a statement from Aslef.

McCluskey added that Easter weekend, a week before the marriage ceremony, would also be strike-free.

“We wouldn’t pick Easter at all,” he said.
