Born in 1518 in Venice, painter Jacopo Robusti earned the name Tintoretto, which means little dyer, on account of his father Giovanni's profession. He made his mark in the culturally flourishing Italian city against eternal rivals Titian and Veronese and refused to leave during the tragic plague of 1575-77, which wiped out swathes of Europe. This documentary pays tribute to Tinteretto's indelible impact on the art world.
