Irisz Leiter leaves behind Trieste to seek employment in 1913 Budapest at a rarefied millinery establishment, which her parents once owned. Irisz hopes that being part of the boutique will allow her to reconnect with the past. The current owner Oszkar Brill initially refuses to hire her. In time, Irisz learns about the existence of a brother and she embarks on a quest to track down this missing branch of her family tree.
