Moving true story set in 1980s Ireland. Wild child Aine is convicted of joyriding and is sentenced to time behind bars in Armagh Women’s Prison, sharing a cell with IRA political activist Eileen. Young Aine is understandably scared of her cellmate and of the situation but Eileen eventually takes pity on the newcomer. In the process, Aine gains a new friend, so when Eileen and her comrades begin a hunger strike to protest their cause, Aine risks everything to save her friend’s dwindling life.
