In December 2016, Adrian McElwee died from a fentanyl overdose following a long battle with substance abuse. The son of celebrated documentary filmmaker Ross McElwee was 27 and often appeared in his father's work. In this feature-length documentary, Ross draws on decades of footage, including images shot by Adrian, to meditate on the loss of his son. He reflects on how the meaning of the footage might have changed now Adrian is gone.
