Barbra and her beau Johnny unwittingly stumble into a zombie uprising during a visit to her father’s grave. Johnny is killed by one of the undead but Barbra escapes and she seeks refuge inside a farmhouse with fellow survivor Ben and the farm’s terrified residents, Harry Cooper, his wife Helen and their daughter Karen. They are barricaded inside the farmhouse while zombies maraud outside, hungry for human flesh. However, Karen has been bitten by one of the infected.
