Singer-songwriter Cal Harley returns home as a one-hit wonder to discover his family in disarray following the death of Cal's mother. His father Mick is furious that Cal missed the funeral while his brother Jake is in the midst of a failing marriage and caring for his daughter, Romy. The family's source of income, The Drovers pub, is in disrepair and a harsh review from two visiting judges from the Campaign For Real Ale (CAMRA) feels like a death knell to the business.
