High school student Madeline nervously awaits news if she has been accepted into the drama program at The Juilliard School. The teenager clashes with her mother Regina, who drives her to various classes including performances with a theatre company under director Evangeline. The director decides to build her entire performance around precocious talent Madeline, allowing life and art to blur as Madeline explores her inner turmoil on the stage.
