Boys State (12A)

An award-winning documentary, which follows high school seniors from Texas as they gather for an annual week-long program to create their own state government. Students canvas for votes from peers and jockey for supremacy, putting their personalities and convictions on public display during a hard-fought gubernatorial race. Cameras focus on Reagan-loving arch-conservative Ben and progressive Mexican immigrants' son Steven, whose self-belief is repeatedly tested over the course of the week.
