It would take a blind man not to have noticed that there’s been a cycling revolution on London’s roads in recent years.

Many of us have enjoyed a meander on a Boris Bike and if we’re lucky we’ll have managed to find our way onto one of the many blue decorated patches of cycling super highway adorning our arterial roads. To help the mood along, last summer saw the UK cycling team grab a hatful of medals in the 2012 Olympics Velodrome.

But surely the finest development of them all is the now annual RideLondon extravaganza which plays host to tens of thousands of amateur cyclists pedalling their way around the streets of the capital in the RideLondon FreeCycle (Saturday 3 Aug) and out into the sticks for the RideLondon-Surrey 100 (Sunday 4 Aug).

If it’s all too much of a strain or your chains gone wonky you can always watch the pros do it in the RideLondon Grand Prix on Saturday or the RideLondon-Surrey Classic on Sunday, full details of all the routes can be found here.
