A 4K rerelease of Mel Gibson's controversial biblical epic. Jesus retires to pray in the Garden of Olives following the Last Supper. A creepy, gaunt figure with pointed teeth attempts to tempt Jesus but he resists and is soon arrested by the Pharisees, led by the betrayer, Judas Iscariot. Hauled back into the city of Jerusalem, Jesus is greeted largely with disdain and anger. Jewish high priest Caiaphas and his council of holy brothers accuse Jesus of blasphemy and condemn him to death in front of his Holy Mother Mary and Mary Magdalene.
